Apology Watch 2007

12 04 2007

Well, we are in day two of our all-star apology watch… lets look at the leaderboard:

Don “I’ma very sorry” Imus: 1+ (cuz he keeps apologizing over and over)

Al “Sharpie” Sharpton: 0 (all time stat)

Jesse “Gesticular” Jackson: .5 (I think he apologized once, I just can’t find a reference)

You say WTF? So do I. Jackson and Sharpton publicly slammed the Duke Lacrosse players every chance they got for months on end. Where is their apology now?

Here at the Apology Watch 2007 leaderboard, we will continue waiting… and waiting.

The three steps to forgiveness in America:

  1. Apologize
  2. Resign
  3. Rehab

The rantings and ravings of “Black Leadership” (and I use that term loosely) in the visage of Jesse Jackson and Al “Dull” Sharpton have come down on the remarks, demanding Imus’ resignation. Where are the pickets outside BET – host to some of the most offensive comments on African-Americans and especially African-American women. Where are the protests against the DAILY denigration of women of all colors, shapes and sizes. Certainly, Imus and his posse are hardly alone as offenders. Read the rest of this entry »

Knitting in Progress

10 04 2007

There is always a lot in progress. Just finished a cute hat and working on its twin for my friend Kathi.

fetchingbeauty.jpg Also have matching fingerless gloves at the almost done phase… “Fetching” from Knitty.

Knitty “Fetching”

Very easy cable, simple dpns (since I am not a dpn girl). I have very small hands, so I casted off normally, not with the picot trim. Love this pattern. Thanks to the author, Cheryl

totnes2.jpgAlso working on a tunic in Giotto by Colinette called Totnes. Definitely not in this freakish zebra stripe colorway – mine is more rose-toned. Maybe a little shorter too.

First post of many…

What will you find here? Thoughts on life, Los Angeles, yarn, dogs, knitting, PR, crochet and current events. Reflections on stupidity. Stuff that strikes my fancy. The random pic or two. Nothing is safe from the critical eye.
